Doğu Guta Operasyon Odası mensubu mücahitleri kent kırsalında Uteybe'de 2012 işlenen bir katliamın da sorumlusu olan Cumhuriyet Muhafızları albayı Rıfat Ebu Rahal'ı öldürdü.
Bu katliamda bölgeden çıkmaya çalışan onlarca sivil öldürülmüştü. Rahal aynı zamanda cenaze merasimleri esnasında da sivillerin katledilmesinden de sorumluydu.
Habere göre çatışmalarda Cumhuriyet Muhafızlarının başkanı ("dean" demiş) Ali Esad Farawi'de öldürüldü.

The Eastern Ghouta Operations Room rebels managed to kill the main commander who is responsible for the massacre of “Otaiba” Rural Damascus in 2012, with others, during the current fighting on the al-Marj front.
Field sources reported that the rebels killed the officer in the Republican Guard Maj. "Raafat Abu Rahal," during clashes in the Eastern Ghouta town of Marj al-Sultan.
"Raafat Abu Rahal" is primarily responsible for the massacre of “Otaiba” in 2012, which claimed the lives of dozens of civilians, as they tried to get out of the Eastern Ghouta, and had a major role in the killing of those who did not die after the bombings that hit the processions march in Otaiba.
Al-Marj region is witnessing fierce battles, during which the rebels have managed to kill many of the elements of al-Assad, including the Dean of the Republican Guard, "Ali Asaad Farawi" within the Marj al-Sultan airport.
