Mücahitler bölgeye tüneller ve kanalizasyon kanalları yoluyla sızmayı planlarken ortaya çıktı ki rejim kendilerini bekliyordu. Rejim büyük ihtimalle bilgi alacak şekilde aralarına sızmış ve operasyonu önceden öğrenmişti.
